One word - permethrin. Read directions carefully about spray application to clothes, time to let dry, and washing treatment. At minimum, spray your backpack, shoes, outer socks, and pants.

Carrying a belt mount Thermacell device is a great idea like the MR300 or its variants. Non toxic and keeps bugs away in a 15 foot radius from you. I never go out in the woods without one anymore

In the past, this has really become a problem for me. It feels like I can't go anywhere in the bushes and such where I really want to go because I want a certain angle for some shots or photos. I use a 60 liter pack for my gear - I try to avoid taking it off and putting it on the ground for the reasons you mentioned - if I do, I also give it a good shake and a couple of hits to get rid of potential passengers before I put it back on. I've also tried lots of different sprays - but I don't know what to think of them. It's also important to search carefully your body after you've been in an area for ticks - it's best to do this with someone else. It is also important to check if some new species are around. These are great lenses. I prefer 44m, I have one adapted for Nikon. More practical ergonomics. Also there's fresh alternative from Meyer Optik Gorlitz Biotar 58 f1.5 II for 1200euro

What do you do with lens hoods, especially in bright light?

0:30 'a pillow, not the best impression to make in front of a client' haha. There's a picture on google images of Roger Deakins probably one of the best Cinematographers in the world and certainly the best in the UK in my opinion. In this photograph Roger is using an old sofa cushion to lie on while shooting SkyFall in a London Tube Station. Just saying.

It's tough isn't it, getting so wide and keeping all the nice stuff you want the filters etc etc. This lens is phenominal though, some great images out of it, it's a shame however that it's use case is limited by factors that you can't really control. Is it best in this scenario with say like an overcast sunny day where there's not too much full blown sun ? I enjoy both skateboarding videography and your usual amateur photo and nature video stuff so it would really limit my use of it possibly.

I think these types of bags are helpful, but personally I feel like if a client doesn't think highly of you for bringing a general shoulder bag/duffle bag, I don't think seeing something that looks really similar with a big rat logo is going to be much different in their eyes 🤷🏻‍♂ It's not like the difference between an easy rig and diy easy rig, the shoulder bag and the rat pack aren't so different. Just feel like a pack like this is ridiculously overpriced and videographers seem to get taken advantage of with certain pieces of gear that have no business costing what they do for what they really are

Saved me 70 dollars. There was a communication failure between the lens and my r5. I was already looking to buy a new one. Finding your video, I almost couldn't believe I didn't check the screws. I tightened the screws and it worked perfectly again.

I have been doing this for at least 5 years LOL after trying a whole bunch of different ways to carry cameras in the wild. However I still haven't solved my arm pain after holding it for a long shot. Is there any good method besides gym workout and easy rig?

That SSD looks interesting, can you record braw at any resolution, FPS and compression rate without issues? What do you use for mounting?

Recently I've shot sunset portraits with the 44-2 and actually I've had the same nice lens flares you've had with the 44M

If sennheiser would update the mke 600 with built in battery and stepless gain knob and pads like the newer mics they would destroy everyone.

Meike is very sharp. It is a 2.2 but a lot of nice contrast.
